IMPACT OF GEOGRAPHY
The impact of Geography on trade
Silk Road: The silk road had a wide variety between the physical and grasslands, there were river valleys and oases which often are bounded by uninhabitable desert, which made the cities more dispersed since they were a source of water. Some things that were traded are spices, silk, ginger, and lacquerware, also, furs for animals.

Trans-Saharan: Trade here in the desert was much harder; it was called Trans-Saharan since people traveled across the Sahara to reach sub-Saharan Africa from the North African coast, Europe, or the Levant. Throughout this route many things were traded like gold, ivory, salt and cloth.
Indian Ocean: This route went through the Indian Ocean. It connected Southeast Asia, India, Arabia, and East Africa. The winds determined if the merchants could travel since back then the wind was the source of power that moved their ships.

Black Sea: The trade route is called like this because of its location. The black sea connected the mediterranena Sea through the Bosporus strait and then through the sea of Marmara and the Dardanelles Strait. A wide variety of goods were traded through this route, some of them were: wine, species, jewelry, glass, expensive fabrics.
