UMAYYADS
The Umayyads now are the third holiest mosque in the Islamic world after those at Mecca and Medina. Islam really took over The Ummayads, and made the people of the Ummayad devoted to Islam. Circa 661 was when the first Ummayad Muslim Dynasty settled in Damasucs. This dynasty started to grow a lot and expand, since they were one of the first and stronger places with Muslim, the Ummayads were the ones that propelled the religion into making it almost worldwide. They expanded to the east and westward into Europe. They built a unified empire based on a strong government, a common language, and a common coinage which lead all to the spread of Islam.

They developed trans-Arabian trade networks, organizing caravans to Syria in the north and Yemen in the south. The Umayyads controlled these trade networks and made economic and military alliances with nomadic tribes that controlled the northern and central Arabian desert, gaining them some political power in Arabia. They made coins that facilitated trade because there was only one currency going around. The Umayyads introduced oranges, Lemons, Palm Trees, Figs, Dates, Artichoke, Eggplant, Cotton, and Silk, while revitalizing grape, and olive production to Spain.
